Glenn was born into a family of 12. Father, Francis Clapper, mother Velma Barrier, siblings Beatrice, Francis, Juanita, Lois, John, Marilyn, Robert, Jeane, and Gary. Most of Glenn's life was spent working and caring for his family. His first job was shoveling grain into a silo at the age of 12. At 18 he joined the Air Force. In 1976 he found his niche in life and worked as a mechanic until he retired in 2009. On July 14, 1972 he married the love of his life Joan Tarter. In 1974 he welcomed his first child Penelope. In 1978 he welcomed his son Joel and in 1980 he had another daughter Rebekah. In 2004 he acquired his first son-in-law Terry Hartman. In 2009 he welcomed his second son-in-law John Mines into his family. His first grandson Kobi Mines was born in 2010 and in 2012 he had another grandson Kaden Mines.
